Throat Cancer

Throat Cancer is an easily avoidable form of cancer that produces early symptoms. The earlier the cancer is diagnosed, the easier it is to treat.

What are the Symptoms of Throat Cancer?

Neck Lump – The lymph nodes are the first to contract cancer within the neck. If you feel a lump within your neck, have it looked at by a physician as it may not be cancerous.

  • Voice Change – A progressive and persistent change in voice may be caused by a tumor on the larynx.
  • Blood in Saliva – If blood appears when coughing or in saliva for more than a few days, a professional should be consulted.
  • Swallowing Difficulties – While not all swallowing difficulties are caused by cancer, if the problem is persistent then you should contact a doctor.
  • Skin Lesions – These will generally appear on the back of the neck in sun-exposed areas as a pale patch that slowly expand. These can be treated quickly and efficiently if identified early.
